SPRING IS HERE!!!

Now that spring is here there are several home maintenance items you should consider completing before summer. These are common as well as overlooked maintenance items such as roof, gutters and down spouts, windows and siding, patios and decks, the obvious and sometimes dreaded yard maintenance and let’s not forget that air conditioning unit. So with that said lets jump right in with:

Telescoping Ladders – Your New Best Friend

Ladders have been in use almost as long as humans have roamed the earth and most common types have been around for centuries. The articulating ladder (aka Little Giant) was introduced in the 1980’s, however there have been no significant additions to the ladder family since then – until now. The most recent advances in ladder technology have given us the telescoping ladder. This type of ladder utilizes a series of pins to allow the ladder to “telescope” to variable lengths, yet collapse into a small footprint.

Common Rodents

There are several different types of rodents but generally we only encounter a very small percentage in our Northwest homes. Rodents are problematic inside of any structure. While rodent issues will generally be more pervasive in areas where construction may be older and sanitation may not be ideal, rodents can occupy any building. They will utilize vegetation and trees to gain access to attics and rooftops.

PREVETION AND MAINTENANCE TIPS:
Keep all vegetation away from the structure and put pet food in sealable containers as well as keeping the exterior envelope of your home in good working condition. This includes but is not limited to, keeping vent screens and covers in good condition, sealing any holes or gaps in the siding or where the roof structure meets the house, and keeping stored items such as fire wood, construction or yard materials, and furniture away from the perimeter of the structure.
